I'm planning on setting up a 6 ft. 125 gallon SA tank. I'd like to stock it with severums, geos, angelfish, and some tetras to fill it out. I'm looking for advice as to how many of each of these fish I could stock in a tank this size. I'd appreciate any suggestions as this is my first tank of this size.

Here's a 100 gallon I stocked:

-1 male severum
-1 male chocolate (Hypselecara temporalis)
-Pair of blue acara (Aequidens pulcher)
-4 angels
-20 columbian tetras
-12 corydoras
-1 bristlenose pleco
-1 black ghost knifefish (only one I worry about)

If you like GT, a blue acara is a good solution in a peaceful aquarium (same colors). Have you thought about discus?

I'd like to keep it to the fish I mentioned if it'll work out long term. I was thinking of maybe 6 geo red heads, 4 severums, 6 angelfish, and a bunch of tetras. Thoughts?

Severums will pair if you have males and females whether you want them to or not. Started with 6 severums and got two pairs out of it, had to remove both of them to keep the peace. Last remaining male got aggressive with the last female so had to remove her too. If you can, I'd keep all males if you don't want any breeding.

Thanks for the suggestion. Anyone else have experience keeping these fish together that could offer some stocking advice?

you could grow out a few kinds of severums, then pick the best looking, also easier to try get all males that way.unless you buy them bigger.but growing up together will really help them work out the pecking order, you could add blue acara, male chocolate maybe? many other SA choices

I've never kept the group you've listed together, but I've got 3 angelfish with a group of 10 red eye tetras now; and they are living together just fine.

Severum's from what I've heard may be passive enough to live with the angels but I don't know about the rest.

I've been thinking about moving my stock around by putting my rotkeil severum in with my angels, if I end up doing it, I'll let you know how it turns out.
