Hey guys. A lot has changed in my 125 gallon tank recently. My 6” Female Turquoise Severum was rehomed after going on a rampge and taking out nearly 10 fish and injuring more. She was bullied at the store as a baby and I think this is what caused her to be like that as an adult. Anyways, I have purchased a tiny Red Spotted Severum that is a Male and he has been in QT for two weeks now. My 125 gallon is stocked with 8 Denison Barbs (3”), 3 Bolivian Rams (1 pair), 6 Clown loaches (babies, 1-1.5” and I am aware they will need to be rehome in a few years), and a Butterfly pleco. Once my baby severum is added, would I have room for a school of tiger barbs? How many? Id love to hear all opinions or suggestions. I run two aquatop cf 500 uv’s on the tank.

I personally wouldn't go for tiger barbs, they are notorious nippers and might bother your other fish.
I do think you have a little bit of room, at least until your severum and loaches are bigger. I would go for a school of taller-bodied tetras like Colombians or similar.

Yeah the nipping worried me a bit too, especially with the fins of my severum once he is bigger. I am planning on rehoming the loaches once they reach 6-7” or so, but who knows how long thattl take. I love Harlequin Rasboras but they would worry me with a large severum, however he may be used to them by then if he started with them now and is so small.

He might eat the rasboras eventually, as you know, so might be better to go with a larger species. But if your willing to take the risk, by all means, go for it. Might be fine.

I think I may just take the safe route here and just add two more Denisons. Would bring me up to an even 10 and I know they will do fine

I would go with Columbians or congo tetras.... you have plenty of time for those loaches to outgrow a 125 so no worries
