I have already put up a thread on here a few weeks ago asking for help with my 125 and thought I knew what I wanted. The problem is I keep reading other posts on here and I get a case of fish envy real easily. So I keep flip-flopping as to what I want to do with this tank.

I am most interested in Vieja right now but have never kept them. I see all these very active Vieja community tanks on youtube and would love something like that.

My question is how many Viejas can you keep in a 125? I am guessing not much. And would I be better off going with a single pair?

I am most interested in hartwegi, bifasciatus, and zonatus.

Any experience or opinions you can share that might help me decide would be very helpful. Thanks.

all vieja's are sweet imo. had a zonatus and he was a real terror. i know most people will say only a pair in a 125 but i have about 6 singles in my 125 now with now with no major aggression issues size ranging from 5" to 12" but maybe im lucky. actually may add more. the way i look at is i will take care of my fish so i would rather be overcrowded than see them in a "really" poor situation

the reason you don't get many reply's on that spises of fish is because they are not very common i don't get many replays nob n questions about pearsei cichlid and Asian upside down catfish sorry i have no idea what a veagis is

I currently have a vieja bifasciatus in my 125 gallon with a few of my other cichlids, overall a very gorgeous fish, growth rate is quick, mine is a mean SOB.Here is a picture of mine.
