So, I got a leaky 125 gallon tank from a friend. After resealing it and letting it sit full for almost a week with no signs of leakage I'm confident that the tank is ready for use... of course it didn't come with a stand or hood so that's where the fun part began.

Design concept, frame, plywood, and finished product with hood sitting on top.

Just curious, which sealant did you end up using?

GE 100% silicone, clear. The lower panel had a spot on one edge that the silicone had been scraped away by... I have no idea what, I think they had a large reptile in this tank at one point. The side seals were perfectly fine, I cut away the excess that went around the lower seal & after much cleaning laid a new bead overlapping the sides a bit.

And, here's a pic of the tank now that it has "normal" bulbs in it & the soot has settled :-)

oh, and my dog in the lower left corner ;-)
