Well let's start with the good news! I will be upgrading in june and I will be moving over the stock from a 75 which includes 6 silver dollars, 1 firemouth, and 1 featherfin catfish! I will be hoping to add an oscar potentially a rescued one I might take off my uncle and I'm getting a blue acara how does that sound everyone? And for the stuning question well my,uncle rescued an oscar from a 55 gallon that has been cleaned maybe 3 times in 7 months it has only grown, from 1 inch to almost 4 in that amount of time, now he Is in a 75 gallon with no other tankmates and I hope he will make a recovery any info on the stunting,is appreciated !!

depending on the size of the oscar before ending up in your uncles tank, it maybe permanently stunted, which doesnt mean it wont grow any more, but probably wont reach its full potential...

Sorry, i mis-understood your first post, but yeah, most likely it will be at least a little bit stunted from the previous owner, since i'm sure an Oscar at 4" would grow like a weed till at least about 8"-10" in that time frame...

He grew 1 to 4 inches in 7 months then my,uncle just got him last week so do you think he still might reach around 9 or 10 inches at least? Maybe 7 or 8 by June?

^ i would guess possibly yes but maybe noy by june, since now knowing more details it doesnt seem too bad, just the lack of water changes could have been upped a lot...

Obviously there is also the question if bioload the guy had during the 7months it was in those rather sub-par conditions, eitherway, i would guess he could even reach full potential in a proper setup, so lets see :)

Awesome well thatsbgood to know that maybe soon he will recover ! He was the only fish in this 55 gallon tank it just wasn't maintained at all but that's good to hear he might recover I told my,uncle I think 2 weekly water changes to feed frozen brine shrimp or bloodworms twice a week and feed hikari or omega one pellets the other 5 days does that sound like a good diet to make him grow?

Pellets as a staple + occasional treats is always a welcome diet, so should do well, and if hes by himself in a 55G then maybe even 1 water change a week would be enough since bioload wouldnt be heavy at all with just a 4" fish...

Oksweet I just hope he grows ok because of he does he might be getting put in the 125 gallon and love a life of luxury haha! Plus he is a good looking albino! Hey just checking your opion here if you could what would you have tilapia buttikoferi or red devil?
