Not a whole lot of action going on but I was able to get some pretty good shots of the fish. Incidentally, the male xilo grew a lot of his hump back...the male sagittae started fighting back, well not really fighting but they face off now instead of the sag running away. The male sag has paired with one of the female xilo's and they're fiercely defending a small corner in the back of the tank. There's been no spawning or anything and if there is I may grow a few of the fry out to see if any are cool looking but they will never be used for breeding and any other fry will not leave my possession...they'll be culled and used as feeders. No hybrids will leave my possession. I just wish the big male xilo would show some interest in breeding but he still shows no interest at all. He does seem to have buddied up with the male synspilum though. You can't really tell from the video but they have been spending time in a clay pot together. :)

Awesome group man, that Escondido is incredible!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Jason great looking tank. You are definitely doing something right. I personally like what you were saying about the possible hybrid fry. I think man has played god long enough. I also don't think the hobby need anymore hybrids.

Yeah the only reason I'm not going to break them up so there won't be a spawn is that I've always wanted a piebald-ish looking male to keep and since the male xilo isn't interested in breeding, then maybe the sag/xilo pair will spawn and produce one. :)
