Well if you were Jesus, what would you do with a 125? I don't want to turn water into wine, or use it to practice walking on top of water. In fact, i would rather stock it with fish.

This is the problem. I have a 55 a 75 and a 125. 2 sevs, 1 jag, 1 sunshine or golden oscar (I love this guy), and an 11 inch flowerhorn.

If I put a jag and the oscar in the 125, the flowerhorn in the 75, and the sevs in the 55, what else could I put in the 125?

I kinda want something different (I am looking into sajicas, but I am not sure, they seem pretty passive). What about a vieja (LFS has pink fenestrum in stock) or 1 or 2 snook (LFS has tons since they have a breeding pair), or maybe a texas cichlid? Should i overstock it? I have 2 canister filters on it, and I am thinking the aggression will be better if its dispersed.

Both the jag and oscar are passive. The oscar chases the severum every once in a while, but the jag just runs away from everything, and they are all the same size.

What would you do SA/CA cichlid wise (or oddball even) if you had an empty 125? Help me get some ideas, I have had fish swimming through my head all day today, and I just can't think of anything.

jesus would probably take the 3 fish he puts in there and make millions and feed the world.....so i think he'd put in convicts, lots and lots of convicts.

now i myself would put in some polypterus in with the oscar and jag...then maybe a salvini or two since they are awesome looking and can hold their own.

If I were Jesus I'd tell you to sell your worldly possessions to me for $10 and then give the proceeds to the homeless...

He'd put people in it, because he said he was a fisher of men. Probably Angel Fish if it were up to him. Stay clear of a Red Devil!

Lol. I think the comical theme of the title is stopping people from actually giving advice

If it were ME with a 125 with an oscar and a jag, I would get a royal pleco and an istlanum. I always liked the mini-dovii :headbang2

Just be careful your oscar isnt outmatched. You might have better luck switching the oscar for the flowerhorn.

Hey I never thought of that!!!! thanks gourami, that never occured to me that i could just switch the oscar and the flowerhorn if the jag gets too aggressive. Wow see, I was thinking way to hard. Alright nice.

Haha, angelfish get it? I will paint the backround with clouds at the top and have a horizontal divider all the way down the tank and have red devils under neath it.

Wait I would need 2 dividers, since I need life and then heaven and then hell, ehhh nvm that idea won't work, too much dividing.

I figured "what would jesus do" because christmas was rolling around, IDC if people post funny stuff, I can develop a sense of humor. Thanks for the serious and not so serious replies, all appreciated.

Oh and where can I find soem more info on the istlanum, I really like this fish! Dovii just seem way to big to be kept in aquaria (unless you are johnptc) and this looks even more like a dovii than a grammode does!

Oh and where could I buy one of these?

jesus would put all the fish togeather and then some he could get them to live peacefully

but since hes most likely not at your house i would put the oscar in the 75 and the FH and jag in the 125 and the severums in the 55 they may out grow it but then i would put them with the oscar sevs and oscars do we'll with each other and i would add a few more tuff cichlids to the 12 plus a catfish mabye a fast one mabye a pimelodus species

istlanums are pretty fish and don't get big but are pretty aggressive most are very nasty little things (quick and angry) describes them we'll they proubly wouldn't work in a tank that size very aggressive cichlid

I think that with an istlanum and perhaps a male convict or two, there is less of a chance for fatality because of spread out agression. But of course, a 125 is not a huge tank, and as a cichlid keeper, it is your duty to be standing over the tank with the divider :)

I think for now do the oscar, jag, istlanum (or similar tough fish) and a male con with some silver dollars to spread out agression. As always, the best advice that anyone can give is try it and see if it works

Good Luck

Edit: Istli's are pretty difficult to find nowadays but sometimes rapps and similar places stock them. My LFS had 3"ers a couple weeks ago. It might take a day or two of searching or calling/emailing, but im sure you can find one.

I think Jesus would take your fish and a couple loaves of bread and feed the masses. I read that somewhere.
