cichlids would total a planted tank bro

but for hiding places you could cut holes in some clay pots with some kind of power saw.

My wife has a 125 gal, we made caves out of slate tiles that you can buy at home depot. I think they were $2-$3 each. I broke the edges with a hammer so they look more natural. Put a medium size rock against the back of the tank and prop the slate up on that, just make sure it is sturdy. Stacking driftwood also works pretty well for smaller fish.

You could also use fake plants (vines, and others)... I'm also wanting to set up a Cichlid tank.

Anyone know of any good sites where I could view pictures of Cichlids and study them so i didn't just go out and filll my tank with varrious Cichlids and not knowing anything about them????

www.cichlid-forum.com is pretty good.

I guess holey rock works real well for cichlids as far as making caves and such.
