Hi, I have two 125 gallon tanks I need help with suggestions for stocking so I'll have two different threads going to avoid confusion. This one is my all- male hap and peacock setup. These are the current inhabitants listed in tank boss order:

1.Dimidiochromis compressiceps- has been a very fair tank boss for the past couple years
2.Protomelas Spilonotus Tanzania
3.Placidichromis sp. Phenochilus Tanzania
4.Ruby Red Peacock
5.Black Orange Dorsal Lithobates
6.Aulonocara stuartgranti Chilumba

I just recently removed a Placidichromis milomo who was wreaking havoc on the tank and a Sciaenochromis fyeri Iceberg who started terrorizing everyone after the milomo was removed. They are now, for better or worse and hopefully temporarily in my 125 mbuna tank. I originally had 13 fish in this tank but had to pull some due to injuries or fatalities. I know i should probably have at least a dozen fish in here to manage the aggression but more than that seems like too much to me. The compressiceps and the spilonotus both get over 10 inches and the Star Sapphire is 8+. I figured it would be better to stay at 12 or fewer total. Right now, the current six fish are doing great together without the two tyrants. I don't want to add anything that is too aggressive or gets over 8 inches. Would love some suggestions as well as experiences that each of you have had with the following fish and the possible combinations:

1. Placidochromis electra- Deep water Hap. Fits the size and temperament categories but possibly too closely related to the Star Sapphire? Would like to hear account's of keeping these two together

2. Mylochromis ericotaniea- pushes the size limit and unsure of its temperament. Pictures I have seen online are amazing and it will definitely add a different color and shape. Looks like it could be tough to track down as well

3. Albino Taiwan Reef or Albino Red Empress- I know the regular Red Empress would probably be too aggressive but usually albino variants are more peaceful. Again, would add a vastly different color

4. Tramitichromis sp. Intermedius or Otopharynx tetrastigma- not really sure what the difference is between these fish or if the names are interchangeable. Not talking about Lethrinops intermedius which looks very different and I know would do better in a species tank. Still not sure if either of the names I listed would be too shy for an all- male tank

5. Aulonocara stuartgranti Ngara Flametail- too close in appearance to the Chilumba or could it possibly work?

6. Aulonocara stuartgranti Chiwindi- Blue Neon or Aulonocara stuartgranti Usisya- Flavescent- which one would have a better chance of coloring up if either? Had a Stuartgranti baenschi in there previously but had to remove due to aggression from the Red Ruby

Appreciate any thoughts, experiences or suggestions for other fish that I might have missed. Thanks for reading!

Forget to list my group of ten clown loaches. 4 are in the 6 to 9 inch range, the oldest I have owned for 13 years. 6 much smaller ones accompanied the used 125 I picked up for my mbuna. It's so cool seeing the little ones swimming with the giants peacefully.

You might like these, otopharynx nova longnose. This guy just arrived today and I absolutely love it

I find the placidochromis to be placid. My star sapphire has beef with no one and gives no attention to the other placidochromis in the tank. He ignores the Mdoka White Lips completely. Which is nice. Have you considered a Placidochromis Jalo Reef? I find them to be stunning. I have three in my tank. I was supposed to be growing them out and keeping the male, but they all turned out male. They bicker a lot - which means they color up real well - but they are never violent. They are very peaceful for the most part and are ignored by everyone.
I had a Tramitichromis Intermedius and an Otopharynx tetrastigma in my tank. They were both gorgeous. The otopharynx never had a beef with anyone. He was a chunky boy. The Tramitichromis was the boss of the tank for a long time. I was pretty sad the day I lost him. Of the two, I found the Tram. to be more beautiful, but mildly aggressive.
Have you considered a Copadichromis?
I have some C. Geertsi that are a stunning black, and pretty laid back. Until last week, I would have said that the C. Azureus is also pretty peaceful. But mine has made a sudden stab at leadership in the tank and is keeping everyone penned up. He is not doing anyone any damage though

Appreciate the reply. I had a Copadichromis trewavasae Likoma that got stressed out and wound up with bloat. Wasn't able to save him. Feel like the Copadichromis group is a little more timid and might not color up as well. I have had Jalos in the past, good suggestion. My main problem will be finding the fish I want at one place so ill have to be more flexible I guess. Thanks
