Hi, I just recently picked up a used 125 to move my mbuna from two 55's that they outgrew and one that was leaking which forced the necessary move a little quicker. Here are the current inhabitants:

9 Pseudotropheus acei- in the new tank for less than a week and two females are holding already. Guess they like the new digs

3 male Yellow Labidochromis- want to get about five more and hopefully some females

3 Metriaclima sp Dolphin Giant Demasoni- 2 males, 1 possible female. Much smaller but guess could also be a subdominant male. Started off with 9, unfortunately they started picking each other off as they grew in the 55. Have one in another 55 recuperating. Not sure if I want to add more. They are very aggressive to each other but I would say they exibit average aggressiveness towards the other inhabitants

1 Xystichromis sp. Flameback. From Lake Victoria. Has been raised with the Acei and does well. Smaller than the rest but assertive and doesn't get picked on

1 Placidochromis milomo- removed from my other 125 male hap/ peacock tank. Turned into a madman and killed or injured multiple fish in that tank after being raised with them for over 2 years. So far, hasn't been a problem and hasn't been bothered by the mbuna. Definitely keeping a close eye on the situation as I know it's not necessarily ideal

1 Sciaenochromis fryeri German Iceburg- also removed from my other 125 for relentlessly harassing fish after the Milomo was removed. Again, not necessarily the best situation for him but so far so good

6 Synodontis multipunctatus ( or possibly grandiops)- have had them for 13 years and still not quite 6 inches. Have always done well with both the haps/ peacocks and the mbuna

I would love to add about 8 Labidochromis Red Top Hongi and possibly a group of Pseudotropheus cyaneorhabdos Maingano to the mix. Also, has anyone had any long term success with adding single male mbuna to tanks that have groups already? Love the look of the male Pseudotropheus polit as well as many others. I will eventually have to figure out what to do with the Milomo and Fryeri. Maybe a bigger tank of 180 or larger is in the future and I'll do a little more aggressive mix with Buccochromis. Thanks for reading and any suggestions you might have!
