125 not overcrowded?

Hey I have my 125 and I have 2 small 4 inch oscars in it. I was wondering if I got a single jack dempsey how would that work do you guys think? Or any other American cichlids that get somewhat big?

I think you'd be fine stocking level wise. Although when I had a jack with my oscars he had trouble standing up to their aggression. If you raise them all together at once though maybe it won't be an issue.

Hopefully I can get a mellow one. Are they interactive because the last 2 I had until about 4 or 5 inches and got rid of because they were way to skittish

sevs are an idea... in a 125 there are LOTS OF choices cons 2-3(same sex)... nics would prob. work ... brasiliensis.... even med. size cats...green terror....

For now, yes. But when those oscars get full grown then you wont be able to manage the water quality and everything will die or become horribly stunted.

Mr biggleswrth, instead of a jd could I try a mideval? If I could be lucky enougj to get a nice one if not I'd just keep the oscars alone I guess
