I am planning on setting up a 125 gallon planted tank. what do need to know or what should i do for a successful tank. ?? lighting, chemicals... etc

1 watage of lighting per gal more is betta tho
co2 is a must (i think)
clay based gravel is quality to (expencive tho)
not 2 much flow
some plant food.water and plants realy

do you want to go high or low tech ?
high you will need to read up on ferts , co2 high quality substrate
low tech no co2 ,fish provide ferts , plain gravel or garden soil topped with gravel works well , once you hit 2 wpg in a large tank you can grow mostly anything . low tech can be almost the same as a plantless tank .

just want simple plants with no co2 would rather do water changes to take care of the plants , want to have a ton of plants though
if you dont want to do co2 then go for low light plants like anubis, mosses, java fern, jungle val, giant val, dwarg sag. theres more but you can look them up.
Thanks... being new to planted tanks is there a specific filtering unit that is good for planted tanks being good flow or somthing?
