I picked up a 125 with no top brace and resealed it. The previous owner said he used it with no top brace with no issues. The tank is an older 125 with 1/2" glass. Once I sealed it and the silicone cured, I filled the tank to water test it and found it bowed a 1/2" total in the center. It has held water for about a week with no issues.
Any thoughts if this will be alright? I am little nervous to bring it in the house and set it up due to thinking it might rip at the seams. I have tried finding a brace, but you cant buy them online and no local stores can order one that size.
Thanks,

I have thought about that.
I have even contemplated buying a 60"x18" brace and a 30"x18" brace and modifying them to fit. I would cut the ends off the larger one and and place it in the center of the 125. Then I would use the smaller one to wrap the ends of the 125.
Any thought on this?

Forget about rigging up a plastic one, unless they are made for the tank and fit perfectly, it won't be much help.

Just silicone a glass strip across the middle of the tank (like on the Oceanic tanks), maybe a 6" strip of 1/2" glass...

Burt :)

I tried the euro bracing with a glass strip across the center, and it just popped off. I even added triangle pieces to the corners so I could put a top on it. When the tank bowed a 1/2" the strip in the center came off from one side.
I was going to try and make one from two separate tops because I have read that people have tried it. I just never found any results.

A store here used to order the braces before they closed down so someone has to have them.Contact AGA or Glasscages .com .That PetPlace should be able to get one for you.

Glasscages said to buy to 40 breeder tops and make it into one. That pet place only has tops up to 60", and AGA said go to my local store(AGA distributor) and have them order one. The problem with the last one is no local stores will order a 72" frame.

That sucks,I know a few places here that may be able to get one if you are willing to pay for shipping.
