Hi guys was planning on doing a Coldwater setup with a garibaldi and couple of green wolf eels. Was wondering what's the lowest temp garibaldis and wolf eels can go? Since they are found in Cali I would assume 58F would be a fine temp for them?
Low temps won't be the problem, but rather high temps. While most coldwater marine fish can survive in water up to around 68 degrees, they prefer temps below sixty. The key is stability - the ocean's temperature will only vary by a few degrees over the course of a year and not at all from day to day. A good chiller and temperature controller are pretty much a must. Also, be prepared for lots of condensation on humid days.
Thanks guys, any chillers you recommend? This is my first time getting into chillers. I found no Marco algae also that can live in this low of temps anything you guys recommend to keep my nitrates down? Also how big do california moray eels get? To big for a 125g? They look awesome but I can't find any care on them or anyone who sells them.

Where could I get one? I have to measure the foot print of my 125 it's not a normal foot print (in a good sence). That's the only info I found also while researching, good to have info from another person also thanks.
Also my stock list is not set if you guys have any ideas please lemme know. There aren't a lot of Coldwater fish on the market that I know of.
Did some reading on Cali round rays they don't seem to get that big not to sure on their tail length tho. Could a Cali ray be a possibility if most of the lr is in the sump.
Did some more info your right they need a bigger tank so I stick with my original stock list this summer I'll be starting the build be sure to look out for it
