125g COTA vieja tank progress

Hey all, here I’ll be tracking my vieja in this 125, currently the stock is

1 Synspilum(M)
1 Jaguar(F)
1 HRP(M)
1 Convict(F)
1 Fenestratus Catemaco from lfs
2 Fenestratus Catemaco from COTA
3 Zonatus from COTA
2 Hartwegi from COTA (1 female that I want to pair with my KML flowerhorn for a kamfamalau project, unless it pairs with my synspilum first then that’s a whole other kamfa project lol)

I will be thinning out the stock once they grow

I felt like she was out of place, just sat holding down that corner all day and night, wouldn’t eat pellets, only blood worms and flakes, and was growing really slow so I took her to the lfs for credit

Nice fish, and I like your scape. Looks great. I think you will find you need to continually re-home more fish or get a bigger tank when these guys are large, 125 will be good for probably just a single Zonatus eventually. But nice to grow them up together and enjoy the group for a while

yeah i certainly don’t plan on keeping all of them, I got the hartwegi for a breeding project but I don’t keep fh currently so I’ll be removing that fish especially since it’s female, and most likely another Fenestratus, which will leave big Synspilum, and small zonatus and Fenestratus same size, then eventually a festae pair but I have a while before anyone is full grown so it’ll work itself out next year! My festae aren’t even 2” yet!
