hello,

I’m setting up second tank and before I go dump money on new filtration I wanted to get feedback on the following hat I already own:

Would this set up be good enough for a new world cichlid 125g cichlid tank:

Aqua Clear 110
Aqua Clear 110
Fluval 306
Two big power heads
2 heaters

Any feedback or suggestions would be helpful.

Thanks

Frontosa
Flower horn

(All raised together, green Texas only bully but nothing too aggressive)

Raffael catfish
Fire eel

Over stocked on 125?

Fully mature yes over stocked .

I can see my green Texas and flower horn getting moved into own tank or separate tanks as they mature. Just for sh*ts and giggles, if you subtract those two monsters am I in better shape?

Again appreciate the feedback.

Yes but keep in mind that the Fire Eels grow large over 3 feet if I remember right.

Right, I’ve had a 2 footer a while back. Great fish. I’ve always over stocked, a rookie mistake that clearly hasn’t changed. Unfortunately, the 6-7 incher I have now that i recently added hasn’t eaten in over a month. Getting a little skinny around the neck. Tried everything. Anyways, I’d go for a larger setup except my tank is upstairs in my loft. Litttle worried about getting above 125 due to weight distribution. 125 along the posts would be fine, anything bigger though? Idk

If you keep up with your wc's and filter maintenance you will be fine.

Not that I don’t want a sump, actually never used one before though, but was just trying to be Efficient with what I already have at home. Think a sump would be a better option that the above set up?
