ok so i got my tank and i'm moving my o's in there shortly.. but of course i want more fish. (the tankmate selection seems to be an on going discussion). i was thinking either jags or GTs, but i wander if i can put a pair of either in there with my 2 oscars?

No Jag pairs need 125 just to them selves when adults unless you plan on getting rid of them later on. They seem to like to pick on Oscars as well as they have a more aggressive approach to territory and dominance. Oscar's can be aggro at times but your better of with 1 Green Terror that is mellow. 3 large cichlids is max for a 125 IMO Large meaning 12". Are you looking just for common everyday fish like JD's GT's etc or would be more interested to broaden your search for different species of fish? There are tons of fish in the hobby.

A GT would work if you size it correctly. Looking for a mid level type or a bottom fish?

sorry to do this in the sa/ca category but get a solo pike with your O's should get along great. add a few dithers, convicts, silver dollars etc. should have a fairly easy going tank.

i have a common pleco with them too, and yeah i do want to look into different types of fish, but for now my space is a little limited. i love the way the jags look but one GT and some other small fish would be good for now.

i've looke for pike's but they don't seem to be very common around here.. or at least i don't know where to find them.

Just my opinion but I think a large jack dempsey would be cooler than a GT...never been a huge GT fan, dunno why.

No...along with the O's and jag.
