What is the rule of thumb for gravel? is it 1 lb/gallon?

I have undergravel filtration on my 125 and want at least 1 solid inch of gravel on top of that. How much gravel did you guys use on your 125's?

it all depends on the size of the gravel. i used 50lb in my 75 and 25lbs of sand and i am going to add more gravel soon

i use 120# in my 150 (same area) and i got a good thick bottom

I wana say that i used 2, 60 lb bags of pea gravel and 3 smaller (probably 20 lbs) baggs of florite in my 125 gal planted, i held out about 1/4 of a 5 gal bucket of pea gravel

I put painters tape all the way around, with it 1" higher in the back so i have about 3.5" in the back and 1.5" - 2" in the front. you can step back and eye ball the gravel lvl so it is even.
