125g GT + cichlid friend?

I have a 8" green terror male in a 125gallon tank, I was hoping i could squeeze in a smaller cichlid in with him. would a FM, salvini or convict work? id love a JD but i already feel like im pushing it.
8" GT
7 giant danios
10" bichir
5-6" petsmart knife fish (couple years old just doesnt get bigger)
1 chinese algae eater
1 bristle nose
 
Depends on the GT. I kept one in a tank full of other cichlids, it was not one of the aggressors of the group (the Midas and Jag saw to that). I had a friend with a huge GT that he kept with a smaller Convict, Firemouths, and some Cats with no problem.
 
I have a 5" GT with a 3.5" Female JD, she pushes my GT around a bit. I was kinda hoping maybe they'd cross breed in the beginning.....doesn't look like that's gonna happen anytime soon though.
 
Hmm now is the tank big enough to try a jd? And what kind of decoration/caves can I add to the tank to try to make something work out?
 
I have a green terror with a salvini, firemouth, and electric blue jack demsey, but it all depends on the individual fish
 
125 gallon is pretty massive, I'd try a JD and see how it goes, worst case scenario you have to remove the JD. If you have a tonne of hiding places and good sight breaks I'd put my money on it working.

I would add the JD....but I would add some kind of Dithers at the same time....If your GT has been rolling solo in the tank, regardless of tank size it's his territory.....therefor don't get hopes too high....If your willing to remove the GT, rearrange the tank, do a water change, add the dithers, then add the GT and JD your chance of success increases....make it at least a half day process...
