I recently lost all my fish due to recent massive power outages in my region so i am re-doing my 125g 4x2x2. It will be planted and all i had in it before was a large JD and a few common plecos. I was thinkin EBJD, Oscar, maybe C. Festae (f). Thoughts on alternate combinations? I know these fish get big so i'm just unsure about the # of fish, i know clean water will be huge.

thoughts and suggestions, thx

I think you'll have a problem keeping the cichlids from destroying the plants. The only plant I could see surviving is a large Amazon sword.

I agree on the plants, even if they don't eat them, they uproot and disrupt them.oscar, ebjd could work, festae would be risky in a 4 foot tank.more choices:severums, acaras, geos

EBJD, Oscar, and Red Severum? I have read that the Red Severum like to school, could i have more than one? I am looking for a copper/gold color variation of Oscar, that color combination of those 3 fish would look unreal

i think your thinking of discus, needing a group.severums can be alone,or pairs,as tankmates with others
