Hi MFK:

I am now in process of gathering materials to slowly build the 125g stand with concrete blocks for my fire eels growouts next home. Sticker shock to see how much a sheet of plywood has gone up at the local hardware chain store. (HD and Menards)

?

My question is: what type of plywood am I supposed to get that will not bow over time when i have 125g acrylic tank laying on top of it? Is there a better material out there to lay on top of contrete blocks?

My columns will be done with blocks i am planning on doing 6 of them 4 for each corner and 2 for middle part. Maybe do a 2nd shelf in middle of the columns really not sure yet on my end here. Any advice would be appreciated.

If your laying it on top of the blocks then I would go with a row of 2x4s they are stronger not likely to rot and easier to swap out if needed.

So just line them all up? Like at least 5 of them would that provide too much of an uneven space underneath? I like the 2x4s much more than the plywoods

I think most use 3/4 thick plywood.

Tyvm for the thickness i need to go back and look at them again i think most i saw was 1/2 maybe i was not paying close attention as was so many different types
