I currently have had the same 3 Parrot fish since 2004 living in a 125G tank. They are roughly 6-7" long, Big fins and dumb. They have been use to living with 2 big oscars and a 15" knife fish.

The knife fish and oscars have been gone for a while now and i'm looking to make a change.

I want to add some mbuna Cichlids. I'm going to end up buying small ones and was wondering what people thought about them living together. I'm hoping my parrots don't eat the others because they have been known to eat other fish in my tank before.

I do have those cichlid stones. They are ceramic stones with holes in them for fish to swim in and out of.

So I have 3 of those parrots and I'm wondering what a good number of cichlids would be for that tank.

Its a hit or miss...I personally wouldn't house parrots with mbunas, I have a couple of mbuna in my 120g with a single parrot and their fine but I have peacocks and haps in there too. Mbunas can be very aggressive, you might find them lip locking with your parrots a lot. If you do decide to though, make sure your parrots are the same size as the mbunas or bigger.

IMO, a good number of mbunas in that tank would be about 20. Are mbunas the only ones you want to add? You could even add a few bigger haps
