By the way I contacted Aquatrend again about the knives since i made an order since 16. April, they told me they are giving up by searching the stocklists and are importing it themselves, they sadly can't guarantee the size, and they are not taking the financial risk (this is so that i have to buy them wether i want them still or not) But other than that i am pretty excited, this is going to be my first tube snouted fish, and the start of the advanced fishkeeping journey.
Sounds good and understandable from their side since some knives can be hard to keep alive during shipping and such.
at least you get to have the fish you are looking for! I was looking for ages before i found my gymnotus knife
Within that time i bought 3 hujetas gars, and only found out theyre not compatible till afterwards, thats why im running 3 tanks right now instead of 2 lol, had to give the knife the peace and space it needed, some day ill get a way bigger tank with enough hiding spots so they can co exists but not for now.
Just be prepared to barely ever see the knife fish, almost all of em are known for it, but you can teach some of them them to come out for food during the day.

Ah its painful to only realize a fish isn't compatible after adding it to the tank. If my spiny eel could teach them indirectly then yeah i think they might come out, also they managed to do a special thing for me, a german aquarium fish quarantine operator also offered to quarantine the knives i am getting for 2-4 weeks, before they ship to the store in switzerland. so i might not even have to deal with parasites anymore. Also they are charging me 150CHF (185.71 USD) per fish, i am sure this is on the high side but lets be real switzerland is overpricing things, especially aquarium fish.
