Well after looking at most of the opinions on these boards I got most of my ? answered I'm getting a 125g or 180g put in 15 inch long red belly (Natteri) Piranha in the hopes of haveing in the end 8 to 10 full grown for breeding is it best to get them from different baches or the same and as far as filtration what would be the best wet/dry or canister and why I've had them(Piranhas) before but never had a goal in mind any helpfull hints would be great?

How many could I have in a 125g and how many can I have in a 180g and what kind of filtration would be best?

i'd say 8-10 woiuld be a good number, as for filtration for the 180, i have two emperor 400's but i need more filtration so im looking at getting a canister xp3 filter, not for sure yet still looking around and doing some research.

In a 180 you could technically fit 12 but it might start to look a little crowded at about 8. Wet dry is a good way to filter large tanks, or a sump and fluidized bed filter if you are pressed for room. I have a wet dry on my 210 and my 90 and it works like a dream.

depending on what you want to feed them you might also want to get a couple extra pre filter sponges.

Thank you I'm leaning toward getting a 125g and getting the 180g later this year so that I can have both. Would love to make a stand then I could get the 180g now just don't trust me making one any help on that would be great damn that 180g of yours looks great now let me get this right how many in a 125g and how many in a 180g?
