12ft stand

Hey all

Got a questions, since I can't afford my dream take I am going to put 2, 125gal next to each other was wondering if I should build one stand 12ft or just have two,
and 2x4s or 2x6s?
I would appreciate some of your thoughts

take an end panel off of each and put them together for a semi-dream 250
then build a 12' stand!

I would build two 6' stands. They will be much easier to move around and will give you more options for placement.

I agree, you may change your mind perhaps. Also lumber wise would be better to make two 6' stands then one 12' IMO

I say one 12' stand if you own your house and don't plan on moving. Otherwise it will just look like a fishstore wall. I think if you have some skills a one piece stand and single canopy could look very nice. Same wood top and bottom, trim between, giving the tanks an "built in the wall look" Even if you don't join the tanks you can always build an aquabridge.

Joined it could look similar to this though:

I have been seriously considering doing it and almost started WW3 when I brought it up a few weeks ago with the significant other. I was also considering a custom stand with two 125s shaped L in a corner, if done right I think it could be faked to almost look like a single unit.

the L corner peice sounds like a plan m8 and would look awsome, keep s updated on what ever you decide this could get interesting indeed

a few more supports on that beast would stop all the worries, i would double all supports up on any stand of that size
