I got a good price on a custom build tank 8ft by 3ft by 30 inch tall . The guy doing it would be from ndaquatics and they have a good rep. But will 12 mm double based not be too thin? I asked him and he said he has built many tanks this size with 12mm double based and there very strong. Anyway worth a second opinion?? Just to be sure.

Umm regular 220 gal aquariums are built with 1/2 inch glass so I think youll be fine. By the way 12 mm =0.47 inches incase your in metric. A 220 gal is 30.5 inches tall and height is all that matters so your fine.
