i doubt it...the smaller guy wud be a snack

ahhh. im getting really sick of setting up grow out tanks llol. Its never ending, at one point i had a 90 gal, a 10 gal and a 30 gal all setup as grow outs for my main 180 g. Now my grow outs are 10 gal for baby cichla, and i guess have ill setup my 75 g for my 6.5 inchers.

I hear ya! I was doing the same thing and just burned out from it. I've got 2 big piquiti 8" or bigger with my orinos that are about 3/4 their size and I'm still nervous the piquiti might try to make an Orino a snack. I've got 3 silver dollars in there and one of the silver dollars has a perfect jaw mark from one of the piquiti biting it and there is no way the pbass could have ever eaten it. I don't think I'd mix those 2 sizes but I feel your pain

My two 6.5 inchers, i know will do fine with smaller fish as i have them with a 3" firemouth that theyve been with since they were babies and they dont care about her. But these three 13 inchers i am getting from a store so no clue how they are. I think i might try and divise a way to make a really strong divider, im not in the mood for setting up another tank. But i cant pass up this cichla deal.

use eggcrate and put rocks against it in addition to suction cups so the cichla cant knock it over. but make it a little bigger than it is wide so it can be tight in between the glass. it may scratch it though. but i warn u now if they want to get to the other side they WILL. Personal experience;)

lol yea i wouldnt be surprised. ive got a big sheet of acrylic i can cut, that stuff is flexible too so i can probably get a really snug fit. I wana find a way to cover the the transparency that way they wont be trying to eat eachother through the glass. also, how did you attach the suction cups, if the eggcrate was fit really snug?
