Yay, he has a appetite now. He just ate today for the second time, and got his first belly since I got him. (over four months ago)!!!!!!!:nilly: My tank perimeters are good. I through smelt, shrimp, and floating pellets in there every other or third day, for the rest of the gang. He decided to go with the shrimp pellets.

He isn't scared of any of the bigger fish, they don't really seem to bother him at all. But if a piece of food got to close to him he'd high tail it the other way.:screwy:

He's actually one of the mellowest id sharks Ive owned. And I am glad he decided to start eating and stick around for awhile. I never really got overly concerned because he never started looking emaciated at all. Definitally a record set with this fish, atleast in my book's. And I know he never got any leftovers cause I watch this tank untill everythings gone everytime!!!!!

Congrads, post some pics up of your little monster

Excellent! My 5" will only eat flakes... I don't know why, one time he took a massivore pellet but since then he has refused them.

I got mine as a trade in from the LFS, I'm assuming that is why it has a strange taste in food.
The reason that I like mine is that it moves around a lot. In a tank where my ARTC and Pleco chill when the lights are on and my rocket gars just hang at the top, its nice to have some movement.

I don't like them much becoz.. They tend to eat too much..and mess up the decor in the tank..and they swim too much... My guys eat everything..from feeders to shrimp to pellets.. But i think mine r stunted..they seem to have huge eyes...

i find that when the id sharks get older they start to become more vegetarian
i had one that only ate bloodworms and shrimp, then never touched them again and only ate algae discs and flakes. and then my arowana ate him.

I have a suspicion he probably at something when you weren't looking. If not, 4 months is crazy.

It is definatelly crazy, but I can guarantee that he never ate anything when I wasn't looking. He used to swim in the opposite direction when a piece of food would get too close. Now he goes after it. Something just clicked in his head and now he has a appetite and before he didn't.
