Thanks for reading. I recently moved and had to transfer my cichlids which all went very smooth and quick(2 hours from tank to tank) and my Midas instantly started looking under the weather and just lying on the ground. As the days went by he started having petruding scales,a very large belly and his fins seemed to be just rotting away. I did all the epsom salt treatments and used proper meds which within a week made him better for the most part. He has his energy back and he looks great but his stomach is still pretty large and he can only swim sideways. Any help anyone can give me? Thanks,Jason

He might have a swim bladder issue, but I'm not sure how to treat it.. Hope he gets better

Swim bladder issues can sometimes be treated with using some peas soaked with epsom salts. Frozen peas are ideal, and I normally try to stuff the peas with the salt.

If that doesn't work after a few days, stop feeding, and the issue may go away.

If it doesn't go away, the only other option is my expelling the air with a hollow needle.

I'm going through the same issue with a female frontosa. :(
