So I wanted to put it to the test... Purchased a royal clown knife and then just got a HUGE fat clownknife I can honestly say he very well fed... Jeez... Worst comes to worst I thought that that bug guy would be pounding on the smaller one but when I threw em in guess what happened?.....


RCK pounding the hell outta him!!!! Ripping off parts of his fins, scratching up his body, aiming for the face but luckily "big guy" still has enough speed to dodge him. I was about to give him back to the LFS the next day.... Until next morning I turn on the lights n noticed that they're both literally side-2-side swimming all over the tank!!!!! So much relief I never thought that was going to happen. Sucks though because big guy got his ass whooped and got life-threatening wounds.... I've been doing big water changes so the wounds can heal and so far some of the redness is going away thankfully. I will post up pis soon. Big guy is not the nicest looking clownknife around but he is a fatty for sure!!!

The royal was in the tank first, yes? This might have explained some of the initial aggression.
 
I assume they're closely related enough to breed, no? Royal + common = noble?
 
I would still keep an eye on them for a little while. They definitely were fighting for dominance, but the larger CK may challenge the RCK later on.
 
Update: big guy is healing well they're both getting along very well, they're both are pigs lol gotta start buying MPs by weekly. Should took a pic of damages because they looked very bad but now it just heal do well that it's only showing partial parts.
