I know most don't live this long. Just thought I would share some pics of mine. He has some type of fungus that has been growing the last year. It kind of comes and goes. Notice the one on one of his fins forms like a bubble. It burst once and has grown back. I fugure its part of old age. Just thought I would share. He is housed with 2 Bolivian Rams a Botia Loach and a clown pleco in a 58 g. tank.

He does look rough. One side is much worse that the other. Not as bad as it looks. He still is very active. Very suprised he has lived this long. Don't think there is much I can do for him at this time.

Yes it will be hard to part with him. I may have had a couple other fish longer or as near as long. 1 is a Syn spiecies catfish and also a stripped Rafiel. ( I guess he is still alive). I know were he stays. Here is a pic of him from 2001. The gold severum has been gone for 6 or 7 years. (Maybe more) You can tell he was very young in this pic.sev1aa.jpg

Way to go keeping a captive fish that long its tough sometimes, i currently have a 7 yr old fire eel and 9 yr old raphael cat (spotted) i hope he thrives and swims on
