Hey MFKers I am going to be starting the build of my 1348 gallon pond and I need to run it by you guys and see if it is going to stand the test of time.

the Dimensions are in the pic (in the post below.) check it out and then read the following.

I am using 1" think glass so there isnt an issue with thinkness.

It is going to be 3' high

I have the filtration set to build.

The issues I see are heating so please send some feedback on it.

I am planning to put down 2" styrofoam on the bottom before I fill it with cement has anyone put cement on styrofoam? will it crack as it dries? please inform me if this is a good idea.

The front of the pond isnt on a supporting wall the other 3 sides are I am not having anything going across the glass panel on the front is this a problem?

I am going to have on block high on the ground and then my glass butted up against that the same for the sides I will have one 8" block on either side with the glass siliconed to it all around. I will fill the cement blocks with cement and rebar into my foundation. Anyone see any problems with this?

I am going to be stocking it with Amazon fish (catfish mostly) and other big Monster Fish. ( thats the fun part)

Any feedback would be great.

Thanks a lot everyone,

- Crazy Taco

Please when you respond let me know if you have built ponds before because that would be good to know.

maybe you could use a Radiant Heat system put in the floor they make them in electric or water they also install a stryo type product under the heating tubes to redirect the heat up so the stryo under the concret should work as long as its thick enough

I think you should contact JohnPTC and get his advice for a concrete tank of this size
