Ok so its my first post and its a stocking question I know im sorry but I need to run this by and get some ideas. I am about to start the process of converting my 135 tank from a cold water native tank to a tropical tank and need some help with the stocking list. The tank size is 72x18x24 and for filters I have 1 fx5 and 2 emp-400s. There will be two pieces of drift wood that I will clean and switch over the rest of the decor will be artificial plants. Now for the list I have in mind
15-20 Cardinal Tetras
15 Lemon Tetras
3-5 Sterba corys
1 bnp
6 Hatchet fish
and I cant decide between 1-2 German blue rams or 1-2 dwarf Gouramis
And after everything is stabilized after a few months 6-8 4" Discus.

So what do yall think too much? Not enough of one to much of any one type?
Ive been doing research on here and I think im pushing it a little on the stocking but im just not sure. Thanks in advance.

Stocking is fine in my opinion. Gotta be careful with the smaller tetras though. Discus may try to chase and eat them. Happened to me when I first added the lemon tetras in with my large wild discus. After a few days they stopped bothering them though.

lemons will be fine. I have 25 with my adult wilds. cardinals are a hit or miss. sometimes an expensive snack. cories do better in groups of 6 or more. hatchets are great for the upper level as long as you have a cover. bn's are great as juvies, but most will stop eating the algae once they learn that it's easier to just eat the fishes food. I just gave my adult bn away. he crapped more than all the discus combined. I think the rams would be a better choice as they fit the theme as S.A. where as the gouramis are Asian.

Hey thanks. Ya I didnt think about the gouramis being asian Im not going for the true biotope look but close. Any other suggestions or changes yalll would make to the stocking?
