Hello all, I have a 135 cichlid tank. Filters I currentlly have running it are an ehiem 2 2128 an emporer 400 and a magnum 350 which is just running carbon. I would like to take off the magnum and use it foar all my tanks while cleaning. I have read many posts on wet/dry sytems DYIs and store bought. But I am not opposed to getting another or different canister filters. I want to make sure I have my tank set up right. I have never had a tank this big so I'm not sure if I have the proper filter set up for cichlids. I have noticed that the water is never perfectly clear like my smaller tanks are.

So I guess I either go wet/dry or get more canisters or keep it as is. Any advice would be appreciated

Once you go with a W/D you'll never go back. They are so much easier to maintain and can't be touched in the bio-capacity arena. There are several good plans for both Wet/Drys and overflows around here.

What's your stocklist look like?

And with a W/D if your water isn't as clear as you like it, just throw a micron pad in for a few hours and it should clear it right up.

If your main concern is clearer water than put your polishing filter in the magnum and presto an hour later you have clear water. But if you want to expand then expand. But just remember you can get the water as clear as tap with what you have now.
