Hi all. I would like to know what size tank you would reccomend for the housing of a single male dovii. And how long until it would outgrow a 135-150 if the fish are 2" F1 juvies. Thank you all for any info provided.

Not to hijack the thread, but I too am curious as I just picked up a 5 inch male dovii and am planning on keeping it in a 75 until I move it to my 125 then I will eventually get a 210. I have seen that people say the minimum tank size for dovii male is 180 gallons at full growth. But, I have also read that they reach 12 inches in the first year but take several years to reach 18-20 inches. If that is true then a 125-150 gallon tank should work for a few years for a solo male. I will be curious to what others say on this.

i remember one thread i read about i guys dovi that can barly turn around in its 180 but that tank should last a good while

Maybe 16 months? Im PRETTY sure they have fast growth untill a foot or so. Then only do something like .5" per month after that???

you should get 1" a month until 12" or so, i think you'd be good for 18month but it all depends on the width of the tank, feeding sedule and w/c's
