Hi I’m trying to set up a 135 g new to me tank for peaceful South American cichlids. I was thinking of getting some geos both tapajos and yellow hump eartheater (geo pelligrini) and threadfin albino, venezualen Cory’s a couple of severum (red headed and a red spotted) an electric blue acara and a a yellow tiger parrot if I can find it, pet store says I should add some congo tetras?
I went to the beach boiled the stuffing out of some driftwood. So far my tank is in a fishless cycle going on two weeks using stability and fish food… I have Caribsea substrate just wondering if I’ve added too many “decorations” to the tank…I wanted to give enough cover and caves for the geos…
Filter wise I have a new fluval x4 with mix of old and new media (that I pimped as per pond guru) , and a fluval 406 with old media
I have two wave makers one pointed at the top for airflow and one at other end at the bottom for clean up.
I will attach pics of my first severum it is suppose to be a red shoulder severum but now I’m seeing pics thatlook similar listing as red tiger severum? The severum is currently in my existing 55 g with pebble bottom
Oh I also have 2 used 200 w eheim jager heaters but I can’t get my water to go above 80 so I’ve ordered 2 300 w Eheim jager so hopefully that will work. Any suggestions greatly appreciated
