I found an ad on craigslist and a guy is selling a 135 gallon tank with a magnum 350 pro canister and a tidepool sump filter, it also comes with a lid and lights, he wants 325 for all of it, is that a rip and will that be enough filtration if i decide to throw a couple clown knifes in there?

I think the fish will outgrow the tank before they outgrow the filtration (if that makes sense).

As for the deal...it's OK, depending on what condition everything's in. If the tank doesn't have any flaws I mean. With no stand it's not a great deal, and you'll probably find people who'll say it's overpriced, but if you don't see many tank deals where you are then it's not terrible. I'd offer $300 maybe.

:iagree:

i paid 400 for my 125 setup and it was a pretty good deal for my area. its all up to you really. if you don't find many deals like that in your area then i would jump on it!

yea ive been spending countless time on the internet and craigslist trying to find a good deal and this is the best i can come up with, so if the clown knifes will outgrow it, what would be cool to put in it? im open to all suggestions

Anything 180+ gallons (6x2x2) should be good; gives them 2 feet of turn-around room.

However, for tanks that size, expect to dish out more pocket change. Also, for a 125, they are very common and you can find some good deals. Just buy the tank and you can get everything else on your own. I've seen 125s (tank only) go for around $100. (I DOUBT it's a 135, more common size is 125).

I also think it's funny that 325 is an OK deal, but 300 is a good deal :lol

well he gave me the dimensions and they are 6ft by 18 inch by 2 ft, 135, i think a 125 would be the same but not as tall....right? but u think i should look for something bigger and badder.....well it is monsterfishkeepers.com right lol

yes thats a 135...not a great deal but decent and a stand and everything else you might need (heaters etc) will nickel and dime you to death if you dont have them..i must have been lucky i got my 125 for 200 bucks with a stand, 2 ac110s, fluval 405, stealth pro heaters etc...id lowball him a bit

Better deal if it's acrylic too...unless it's all scuffed/scratched to hell that is.

It's not...but sometimes if you can dicker the guy down a little bit you feel like you got a better deal...but yea, $25 difference is kind of silly.

I think it's a pretty good deal, but if big tanks are hard to come by then I'd snatch it up in a hurry...............
