Hi just got a 135 gallon tank and stand. stand is looking pretty bad at this point. it has some termite damage and water damage. I like the way that the doors look though. So, i am going to rebuild it from the ground up. I am looking for helpful hints and tips for the stand design. I will be posting pics as soon as i can get space on the camera.

I personally wouldnt waste the time on that and be careful of the hose connections on that filter. I own one and both barbs have cracked and started leaking. Luckily I was able to repair them with some pvc parts and epoxy and now they are bomb proof. Good luck on that project.

Build or buy a new one. You don't want to risk losing all that water on your floor. Maybe you can find a used one on CL.

I made a couple small shelves for my 125 stand and cup hooks for nets. I have a small strip light in my 90 stand and its such a treat to be able to see whats going on in my sump and skimmer. All of my electrical is under my 125 stand. I made a panel so everything is in one place and can be shut off by one switch. Take your time and plan it out now while its empty..its much easier to work on.
;)

Build ya a new stand, piece of cake.

As for tips, i like a long shelf along the back wall inside my stands.
Ive found that i can get away with just a shelf on 1 side in the longer stands like yours.
I like to put all of my filtration on one end and then my supplies and what not on the other
end.

A light up and away is very helpful will messing around down below the tank.
