Like most people I started out in FW, I eventually converted to SW after upgrading tanks. I now want to turn my 135g back to a FW predator tank and would like suggestions on what to keep in it. I don't know if i'll be judged for saying this but one of the fish has to be a CK, i had one for 2yrs in a 90g when i was younger and loved it.

The tank has a custom overflow that drains to a 55g sump which is divided into 3 sections, the return pump is a Mag 9. The tank also has a closed loop system with 2 2500gph pumps but i will be dismantling that. The system is fed by a 7-stage RO/DI system to ATO sensor. I would also like to know whats the best media to use in a sump?

here's a pic of the tank when it new

bio balls, pot scrubbies, bio rings and such are all good bio media as for stocking it depends on what interests you i think a ck would be ok in there for a while i personaly would have a cichlid community

cichlids don't do much for me, i dont know why. i was thinking Clown Knife, a pleco and maybe an oscar or two, a birchir and maybe a fire eel

you could do some od balls bichirs, datnoids , ck, gar, and some smaller cats

i kinda like this, don't know about the gar though, maybe one of the smaller species, but most of the ones i like get way to big for that tank, i think your idea with the oscars would be ok, as far as media, go with pot scrubbies.
