While I was picking up a piece of glass for my 450g lid I saw this huge tank that was sitting in their warehouse. It was massive and the dimensions were 132"x60"x40"(1370 gallons) and it was made out of all glass(tempered). It had huge center overflow system. The owner told me they built it 14 yrs ago for a LFS here as a show tank. That LFS moved to a new location and didn't need this tank nomore so the builder bought it back from them. It cost nearly 10 grand back then to build but now the builder estimates 7-8 grand to build one today. The tank looks rough right now as it has alot of cleaning up to do. What's being housed in it will be a 4+ ft Caiman that was housed in a 6'x4'x2' tank.

To those ppl who believe that glass tanks this size don't exist well here u go;) One day this would be my dream tank to have.

How thick was the glass? I'm guessing it was right around 1" thick.

Those are awesome dimensions, Monster tank for sure...

As you said though you'd need a forklift to move the thing, it has to weigh as much as a car or two.

Ya I would assume around 3000+ lbs dry weight and I thought my 450g was heavy...

Well, then you're looking at close to 5K in glass for that bad boy. And make sure to err on the high side as I guessed low.

pics of the caiman?
