$14.00 for albino polypterus senegalus?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I would say that is a fairly decent price for an albino senegalus. What size is it?

$75 was about the going market price (retail) when albino specimans first came out. I think the price has now dropped down (wholesale anyways?) since then tho.

Be sure to post pics of it when you do get. :) enjoy!

$14.00-$20.00 is pretty common price for a farm bred albino senegal-Anne

That seems like a fair price, what size are they? I am going to be joining the team and been shopping around for some of these bad boys too, this will be my first time keeping them. From what I hear you better bring a couple 14.99's because you can't have just one!!!

Paid $11 for mine a few months ago at petsmart... he was about 3" then, up to about 5" now.

prices have dropped a lot since then, they became very popular and very frequent

Well, I got one. They are very cool. He's about 3.5". Very active, and he settled right in. He's been eating VERY well. Eating frozen plankton and blood worms.

What is it with the blood worms? My clown knife won't touch anything but them. The bichir seems to prefer them, but he also gobbled down the plankton. I'd like their diet to be a little more varied, but they don't seem to want pellets or flake. I've got some roseys in there for the clown, but he doesn't bother them. Unless they get too close, then he gives them a warning nip. Now I've got these ugly friggin roseys that nothing will eat. I should just get an aro and throw in there to take care of them :) Just kidding, thought that day is coming...

I want to take pics, but my camera BLOWS! The pics just come out blurry. It's like the shutter speed isn't fast enough, but I can't change it. Most digis have "sport" mode, but this is a total piece of junk. I guess I'll have to invest in a good one.

Hope you like your new guy! My two always hang out together even though I got them about 5 months apart. They just bonded instantly.

Ahhhh... Wizzin, Pics can't be that bad bro... Can't be as bad as mine anyways?!! :irked: :D lol! Post 'em up!

And... about a varied a diet??... just give your albino sen. sometime. Soon it will be taking everything...sinking/floating pellets, algea wafers, fd krill, frozen and/or live fish, earthworms, mealworms, etc. GL!
