Hello All,
I am the aquarist at the Cabela's store in East Hartford. This poor guy was given to us along with another slightly smaller Pacu. Their owner brought them into the store and said if we couldn't take them he would be dumping them in the river. Obviously I couldn't let him do that so I took them. They were pretty beat up and from what I understand they were both living in a 75 gallon tank! Unfortunately, they had a fungus infection and the smaller one had to be put down (the lighter patch on his upper right side is the remnants of the fungus on the one we still have). I was pleasantly surprised when he was able to adapt to the water temp we use for our display and after several weeks in quarantine, he was moved over to the display. I would love to keep him but he doesn't fit with the rest of the display (everybody else can be caught in CT waters), and I'm sure he would be much happier in warmer water. I am just hoping to find someone who can take him. It would have to be for pick up as I don't have the materials or money available to my department to ship him. If anyone can give him a good home please pm me or you can email me at the store: adrian.plowman@cabelas.com
