Interesting, the little one looks nothing like he did when he was small. Face and body structure are completely different. I'm confused I thought it was based on lateral scales?

It is. It looks like three rows in the one picture where the glare hits them, that's what I based my decision on. How many can you see in person? Vatf would have two rows.

I've noticed quite a bit of variation and overlap in body and head structure between vatf and tatf. The differences don't really seem to become pronounced until they're bigger. The real answer is in the scales.

Wow. That is one of the most fearsome school of characins ive seen, what kind of Payara are those? Not to derail lol, some beautiful tigers though, cant wait for my fatf!

So many great looking ATF in the hobby right now!! Awesome collection. How does your ATF do with the Peacock Bass? I haven't seen that combo before. I love it!!
