I never had experience with mixing 15" Cichla with an 8" Cichla. So I was wondering if it would workout, I know the bigger one won't eat the smaller one. Any info/experience would help. Thanks.

I've done it a few times 14'' and a 6'' and a 8''. The best time to add a fish, is when you do a water change.

Yeah, I was planning to add the little one into the 270g when I'm doing a WC. :) Did the big cichla bully your smaller ones?

Maybe just for a day or so. Not to the point where there is major damage or anything. Just a little love nips here and there, Just to establish territory and what have you.

Ah, I see. Thanks for the info. I guess it wouldn't be too bad.

It's been fine, I'm not worried about my bichirs eating it. ;) I've had smaller fish in the tank before, my bichirs didn't care.

Ive added 8" fish in with 16"+ before. No issues at all. The big one still chases the smaller guys now and then but they are too quick. It would take a 24" to eat an 8", and he would have to be hungry. Keep them well fed shouldnt have a problem.
