$15 for a senegal?

Is $15 a fair price for a senegal bichir? The fish is approx. 8-9" long and looks fat and healthy.

Also, could I keep the senegal in a 55g salvini growout tank (there are currently 5 2-4" salvini cichlids currently in the tank)?

i usually get mine for around 2 1/2 to 3 inches for that price.

At the LFS and PetSmart they go for 15-20 dollars for ~ 3 inches.

I went ahead and bought it. My salvinis are intrigued by the senegal and it's already gobbling up crushed algae wafers as well as stealing some of the salvinis' pellets. Awesome fish.

That's a good deal! That's about what I paid for mine, but she was about 6 inches at the time. I am glad you got it! Sens are fun aren't they? I had a hard time getting algae wafers to my plec b/c the bichir kept eating them all. Now I don't have my plec, so that problem is solved

Congratulations on the new bichir! They get more interesting and active the longer you have them.
