15 Gallon Nano

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
It looks good so far
How many pounds of live rock are you going to use in your 15 gallon. It is really important to the enough bacteria in a salt aquarium. Because you generally use the HOB filters to store equipment and for water flow. Most of the time people use equal or more pounds of live rock to gallons of water. I have 15 lbs in my Mini bow 7 and 130 lbs for my 75 gallon. My mini 7 has been up and running full reef for over a year. I have a AquaClear 110(500) for a HOB filter on it. It only has the heater and a temp probe it it no filter media. It is turned up all the way for flow it cycles my entire water volume 16 times per hour. All my filtration comes from the live rock and live sand. Any dead spots or where flow isn't able to reach will cause nasty algae to grow and nitrates to live. Good luck with your aquarium.

Also any salt tank is a beautiful tank in my opinion!

you dont use your AC110 for a fuge? thats what i did to mine, i converted it to a fuge so not only is it for water movement and heater placement but also makes for a nice little fuge and helping your reef even better.

also made a small DIY light for the fuge as well

i think your nano is comming along nicely!!! keep us updated!

Thanks,
Your fuge looks good. I don't use a fuge because I use a phosphate remover and purigen in my ac110. It is a HOB sump for me. I will post a link to my blog it has all my reef stuff from day one. The last 2 pages of it has my diy canopy with my 70 watt metal halide. What size tank is your nano?

Thanks
