So I currently have an sa lung fish in my 120 gal 4'x2'x2' and he has never jumped before and now he has jumped twice in a week tankmates have never bothered him and water params seem good anybody have any thoughts as to why he would suddenly start jumping?

Something must be spooking it. Have any nocturnal fish that could be bothering it?

He has been jumping during the day. Both times I happened to be there to put him back quickly without any serious damage. His tankmates are a 7" tiger shovelnose an 4" tat and a 10" wolf and none of them bother him at all. He really just went to the top for a breath and then just up and out

How big is it? If it isn't long enough to breath while still on the bottom, I think it is just going on up and leaving the tank. Have you seen it leave the tank?

Iv got a top he just found some open spots. Also he normally lays next to the heater and barely sticks his head out to breath and I watched him jump once he went up like he was gonna breath stuck his head up then just flicked his tail and out he went

Well now that the lung is about 22" he jumped again this time nobody was home to put him right back in... How long was he on the floor? I don't know 10 mins to an hour.. Good news found him immediately once I got home got him back in the tank and added some stress coat. So far he has been doing OK and I am hoping for the best.

Well your tank in far far far to small, Ahh did I say SMALL oh sorry, small small small

I would secure the holes with egg crate. Any open crack is an invitation.

I duct taped the few open spaces. And this morning he is still doing well. My big Beastie is pulling through
