i know how much you guys like to see DIY projects so i thought i would share my current build im working on, slow going but plenty to look at.

I would like accouple suggestions on tank size, i built my stand as a 60"x24" with the intensions of a 48x24x24 150 tank, i can go up to a 60x24x?? should i go for the gold or just stick with my original plan. I have a local glass shop that is cutting all my glass for me, the sump pictured is around 57 gal, with an aprox 1200gph max flow rate. open for some comments if nothing else.

Sorry for not posting the pictures locally but i hosted them all in my picture gallery here http://juls.ath.cx/pics just too many to put all the links to. they are under the fishtank one. :headbang2

uh, i was doing a test on my sump thismorning making sure it would hold and flow water and i found this guy....mind you i live in indiana and its snowing right now.

yeah definitely make it a 5 foot. You will regret it if you don't, I think.

4x2x2' is 120 gallons, not 150. 5x2x2 is 150 though.

i was going to go with a 4x2x30", but im now debating all of it lol, im thinking 5x2x3

ps, can anyone tell me what that little guy is, best i can guess is a newt

Nice looking stand

Thanks for the compliment, so i convinced myself to build a 225 tank, 5x2x3, im gonna play it safe and go with 5/8" glass, i assume i will be fine with standard sheet glass, but my main concern is bracing, would a "euro" brace be enough for a tank that big? or is there a better recommended bracing style?

stand is upstairs in its new home, and fill/drain lines are plumed through the floor, ordering glass on monday for a 225 tank, and yes i know im messy, but oh well lol
