For those of you who have experience with these particular fish. I have a texas 5", Mayan 3", and Rd 4.5". The Rd is in a 55g alone and the other 2 in a 90g. Some one wants to sell me a 150g for a very good price. Do you guys think they could coexist in this tank? I had the Rd in the 90g once before but he was a little too aggressive for the other guys. I'm wondering since this will be a new tank with no established territory will it work and will they get too big for all 3 to live in the same tank. Gonna get the tank either way, 250$ for the tank, hood, and stand I feel is very good.

Thats a good find. Over time you might need a bigger tank for just the texas and mayan alone. As for having all three in one tank. Even in the 150 the RD still might be too agressive once they grow larger. As with anything its always up to the temperment of the fish but since you already said that the RD is overly agressive you might need a larger tank then a 150 to have all three in one tank.

Since your getting the tank anyway you might as well try it and keep a close eye. Keep the 90 ready to pull the RD out. This way, at the vary least, you upgraded all the fish to a larger tank.

Thats my $0.2, Good luck!

yeah i agree, you might as well try it and just keep a close eye on aggression and if the red devil starts to cause problems then move him to the 90g. you may find that your mayan may start to cause issues as well as it matures but you will just have to see and deal with problems as they arise, if you dont have any aggression issues then i think that tank would be fine for them but most likely they will fight, what are the dimensions?

As others said you can, and should try it. I would keep the 90gal as a back up aggressive cichlid tank, in case you need to move one back but still want to make use of the tank.

That as a killer deal on that tank!

appreciate the replies, and yes when I found the deal on craigslist I almost sh*t myself. I paid 400$ for the 90g tank, stand and filter.
