inside of stand is insulated with 3/4 styrofoam to keep the noise of equipment down. shelves were added behind the center door to store food, chemicals, ect. the entire stand including the molding is made from pine. normally i would use oak, but the customer wanted a white stand to match his furniture. oak has a really beautiful grain and looks amazing when stained and varnished. the stand is structurally a beast, there are eight legs made of 2x4. the four legs in the center a doubled up, glued and screwed. the four corners are tripled also glued and screwed. the buyer was very worried about the soundness of any stand he might have made for him. but i assure you all this stand can support safely much more than the 150 gallon it is intended for. thanks for looking
